Lightning halts Lady Tigers’ opener at Logan County

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers and Logan County Lady Cougars saw their girls’ high school soccer game halted in the first half by lightning on Tuesday night.

It was the season opener for the Lady Tigers, who are playing their final season before consolidating next fall with Christian County.

Hoptown led 1-0 when the game was halted. Kaydon Coats gave the Lady Tigers the lead after taking a pass from Caroline Baker and finding the back of the net.

Hopkinsville coach Jeff Addison said the game would be rescheduled and finished at a later date.

Hoptown is scheduled to play host to Ohio County on Thursday night.
