Lady Colonels drop season opener to Crittenden

Crittenden County scored in the opening six minutes and never trailed on the way to a 7-1 win over the host Christian County Lady Colonels Monday night in a girls’ soccer game.

Christian County (0-1), which is playing its final season as the Colonels before consolidating next season with Hopkinsville High School, had an own goal for its lone goal on the evening. The Lady Colonels had seven shots on goal.

“We had eight opportunities, we just couldn’t find the back of the net,” Christian County coach Peyton Moshier said.

The Lady Colonels are back in action Thursday at Logan County.
