The academic year kicks off later this month and the Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club and the Hopkinsville Walmart are partnering to ensure that local students have the supplies they need to succeed.
Kiwanis Club President Nikki Chambers recently appeared on WHOP to invite the community to Stuff the Bus next weekend. During those days, Chambers says they will be accepting supply donations and will have shopping lists available for shoppers who want to support.
While the bus is being filled with supplies, folks can also come and enjoy some activities during day one of the donation drive. Kiddos can get their faces painted, color pictures and listen to a story time with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library. Attendees can also grab a bite to eat at food trucks such as KK Coney and Tacos El Papi.
The supply list includes full-sized backpacks, pencil boxes, crayons, markers, lead pencils, scissors, composition books and much more. Stuff the Bus will take over a part of the Walmart parking lot on Clinic Drive on August 9 and 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.
