Murray State announces successful centennial fundraising campaign

After seven years of fundraising, Murray State University has concluded its Be Bold: Forever Blue and Gold Centennial Campaign which exceeded its $100 million goal.

The campaign concluded on Wednesday and raised $107.8 million thanks to the support of around 25,000 donors. The fund was quietly launched in 2018 and became public during the 2021-22 academic year when the university’s centennial celebration began.

Half of the funds raised will go toward student scholarships. According to a news release, campaign donors helped establish hundreds of new scholarships for a variety of academic paths as well as to support first-generation students and those with financial needs.

Donors also directly funded gifts supporting faculty such a state-of-the-art laboratory and teaching equipment and funds for having guest lecturers.

Murray State President Ron Patterson says the Racer community has truly come together and shown their love for the university and their dedication to ensuring its continued excellence and modernization.
