Bud Hudson Cheer registration set for Aug. 4, 5, 7

Registration will start next week for the new Bud Hudson Cheerleading program.

Hopkinsville High School Cheerleading coach Kaleigh Stout was a guest on the Early Bird Show Thursday morning and said the program is an attempt to give young girls a chance to have recreational cheer opportunities in Hopkinsville.

The Tigers’ cheerleaders will serve as coaches for the teams and will work with the youngsters through the end of the Bud Hudson season.

Stout said the HHS cheer team will continue to offer camps, but this will be a full season of cheer for the girls. The season will coincide with Bud Hudson Football.

Registration is scheduled for Aug. 4, 5, and 7 from 4-6 p.m. at Tiger Gym. Stout said youths in grades kindergarten through fifth grade were eligible to sign up. Parents are urged to sign up as quickly as possible as there will be a cap on the number of cheerleaders per team.

The cost will be $100 and will include a one-hour practice per week with the Hopkinsville High School cheerleaders, a tee shirt to wear to games, a bow and insurance will be covered. Practices will be from 5-6 p.m. on Mondays during the Bud Hudson season.

The Bud Hudson teams play the first of four home games on Aug. 23 at the Stadium of Champions.
