Mental evaluation in the works for Pembroke-Oak Grove Road murder suspect

Pembroke-Oak Grove Road murder suspect Anthony Moore appeared in Christian Circuit Court on Wednesday, where public defender Doug Moore informed the court that they continue to wait for a mental evaluation to be conducted.

Doug Moore told Judge John Atkins he’s not sure what the hold up is, as all of the appropriate paperwork was filed at the end of May, but the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Complex has yet to conduct their evaluation.

So, Judge Atkins set a pretrial conference for August 13, with the hope that evaluation will be complete by that time.

Anthony Moore is charged with murder, accused in the March shooting death of 31-year-old Cicara Chantel James at a location on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road. The Christian County Sheriff’s Department reports Anthony Moore was sitting on the porch when they arrived and allegedly admitted to the fatal shooting. He and James both reportedly lived in the home and had children together—those children were in the home when the incident occurred.

Along with murder, he is additionally charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.
