A Madisonville man is facing charges following investigation into a shots fired incident on North Russell Drive in Hopkins County Monday.
According to the Madisonville Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of North Russell for reports of shots fired and upon arrival, made contact with 46-year-old Aaron Cates of Madisonville, who allegedly admitted to firing three shots from a rifle towards the victim.
At least one shelling casing was found on scene, along with a .22 caliber rifle that was found in the bedroom belonging to Cates.
The residence this occurred is located roughly 100 feet from a busy intersection in Madisonville, putting bystanders and motorists at risk.
Cates was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
