While it’s been very hot for an extended amount of time this summer, it’s also been very humid—which means the grass is growing like crazy, and mowing crews are trying to fight it.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reminding motorists that there will be mowing crews out on state roadways during the daylight hours, when the weather permits, to knock down the grass in the state right-of-ways across western Kentucky.
Motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution when approaching mowing zones. Tractors may occasionally have to cross travel lanes as crews go about their work.
Political signs and other advertisements are not permitted on state highway right-of-way and should be removed. Illegal signs may be removed from the right-of-way without notice to the owner.
