Clarksville man sentenced in western Kentucky wire fraud case

A Clarksville man was sentenced recently to 1 year and 8 months in federal prison for engaging in a scheme to defraud his former employer.

According to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, 43-year-old Timothy Allen Pew of Clarksville, was sentenced to one year and eight months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for seven counts of wire fraud.

According to court documents, between March 2023 and January 2023, Pew committed wire fraud by engaging in a scheme to embezzle over $250,000 from his employer. Pew, who was employed as a purchasing manager for a manufacturing company in western Kentucky at the time, embezzled the funds from the company by using a company credit card to transfer money to his personal PayPal account.

Pew was also ordered to pay $257,400.08 in restitution—there is no parole in the federal system.
