Police arrest Hopkinsville man for theft

Hopkinsville Police arrested 49-year-old Curry Hopper of Hopkinsville on Wednesday after he reportedly stole a trailer and yard equipment from a business.

A business owner on Country Club Lane contacted law enforcement after a drop trailer, two push lawn mowers and a weed eater were stolen off the property. Law enforcement located security cameras that reportedly showed Hopper coming to the business three separate times and taking the missing items.

Officers went to Hopper’s home to ask him about the stolen equipment. He reportedly confessed to taking the equipment and thought it was scrap material. While being taken into custody officers also reportedly found suspected methamphetamine and a small bag of marijuana on his person.

Hopper was charged with theft by unlawful taking, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
