A man who was reported missing was found deceased in Lake Barkley in Livingston County on Wednesday.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, investigation began after 68-year-old Donald Smith of Johnson City, Tennessee was reported missing in Grand Rivers. That investigation led to the discovery of Smith’s body in the waters of Barkley Lake.
At this time, foul play is not suspected. The investigation remains ongoing.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the search and recovery efforts by the Department of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Livingston County Emergency Management, Kentucky Emergency Management, Livingston County EMS, the Grand Lakes Fire Department, and the Livingston and Lyon County Coroner’s Offices.
