Lady Blazers continue play in Gothia Cup; HHS, UHA teams set for BGSG

University Heights Academy’s girls’ soccer team opened tournament play in the Gothia Cup this morning in Sweden. Details of the game and the opponent were not available this morning.

The Lady Blazers dropped all three of their pool-play games in the event, which is the largest youth soccer tournament in the world.

UHA has been outscored 13-0 in the tournament heading into today’s game.

Meanwhile several area high school soccer teams are heading to Lexington this weekend for the Bluegrass State Games.

The Hopkinsville High School girls’ team will open play Saturday against Lexington Henry Clay and Bishop Brossart. The Lady Tigers will conclude action Sunday against Louisville Holy Cross.

Meanwhile, the Hoptown boys’ soccer team will take on Boone County on Friday night. The Tigers will meet Lexington Bryan Station and Wayne County on Saturday.

University Heights Academy’s boys’ soccer team will open play Saturday against Somerset and Scott County. The Blazers will meet Cooper on Sunday.
