Madisonville Police arrested Ronald Kennedy Jr. after he reportedly led officers on a pursuit on an ATV Thursday night.
The pursuit began in the area of Hickory Hollow Drive and Grapevine Road when Kennedy reportedly came across police cruiser and quickly sped off. The officer then followed him down Grapevine Road.
During the vehicle pursuit, Kennedy reportedly swerved into oncoming traffic lanes, drove on the road’s shoulder and disregarding stop signs. Kennedy then reportedly fled into the woods behind John Hall Road.
Officers followed him into the woods and found the ATV and Kennedy was later located in the woods with the help of a K9. Kennedy reportedly had slurred speech and sluggish movements, and officers believed he was under the influence of a controlled substance.
Kennedy was charged with two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police, disregarding a stop sign, reckless driving, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device, operating a road vehicle on land without consent and all-terrain vehicles violations.
