There remains four days left for the Western Kentucky State Fair, with Military and First Responders Day set for Wednesday and then Christian County Farm Bureau Day on Thursday.
So far, 15,606 people have made their way through the gates at the fairground in Hopkinsville, but there’s still plenty of time to enjoy food, live music, shows and rides before things wrap up on June 28.
On Wednesday, active-duty military, dependents, veterans and fist responders can get in free with ID, and there will be Mini-Outlaw Pulls in the grandstands, a hot dog eating contest in the convention center, and Fair Board Chair Kent Boyd says you won’t want to miss the live performances by music group Cutter and Cash.
On Thursday it’s Christian County Farm Bureau Day, where Farm Bureau members can get into the fair for free with a coupon from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. President Barry Cornelius says members can pick up their coupon at either of the local offices.
He says the Christian County Farm Bureau will have their annual meeting in the air-conditioned convention center starting at 6 p.m., and folks will be able to hear from several outstanding local students.
The petting zoo opens back up at 5 p.m. and it’s a $25 armband night for rides, with the 4-H/FFA Goat Show taking place starting at 6 p.m.
Then, it’s start of one of the fairs loudest and most popular events—the Farm and Altered Farm Tractor and Truck Pulls take over the grandstands starting at 7 p.m. and Boyd says folks will see some powerful machinery in action.
