State Senator Craig Richardson of Hopkinsville has been named a 2025 Friend of Kentucky Cities Award by the Kentucky League of Cities.
According to a news release, Senator Richardson—who represents Christian, Caldwell and Muhlenberg Counties—was presented with award recently by representative with the League, the City of Hopkinsville and the City of Oak Grove, recognizing work done during the 2025 session of the Kentucky General Assembly.
The Friend of Kentucky Cities Award is presented to legislators who show outstanding legislative leadership on issues the directly impact cities across the Commonwealth.
Government Affairs Director Gracie Kelly says, “Just in his first session, Senator Richardson is already making a name for himself and delivering results for his cities by carrying House Bill 131, a KLC initiative, in the Senate. This legislation permits fire departments in former second-class cities and urban-county governments, which includes his hometown of Hopkinsville, to adopt alternative firefighter schedules to help recruit and retain personnel.”
