A veteran administrator and a familiar face to Christian County High School sports will serve as the interim athletic director for the high school’s final sports season.
A news release from the Christian County Public Schools on Tuesday, said Kerry Stovall has been named Interim Athletic Director at Christian County High School, following the transition of Trey Wheeler to Assistant Principal at Christian County Middle School last week.
Stovall previously served as the school’s athletic director before moving into his current role as District Director of Activities. He will continue in that position while also serving in the interim role at CCHS.
Stovall also previously served as the Colonels’ basketball coach, compiling a 251-143 record in 13 seasons, including the 2011 Sweet 16 state title. He stepped down as basketball coach and athletic director in 2011.
Christian County and Hopkinsville high schools will consolidate to form the Christian County Tigers for the 2026-27 school year.
