The Hoptown Hoppers return to action tonight at home against the Paducah Chiefs after they picked up win No. 2 of the OVL season on Saturday night with an impressive 7-4 win over the Full Count Rhythm in Hendersonville, Tenn.
Former Hopkinsville High School and Heritage Christian Academy star J.J. Thompson and Kolby Webb each had three hits for the Hoppers, who scored four runs in the eighth inning to secure the win.
Owen Hutcheson had a pair of hits and Dominick Bello drove in a pair of runs for Hoptown, which improved to 2-9 on the season.
In other team news, former Hopkinsville High School star Jacob Dilday has joined the Hoppers. Dilday pitched for the team previously and will be entering his senior season at Kentucky Wesleyan College in the fall.
Dilday tossed 2/3 of an inning and did not allow a hit or a runner on Saturday night.
The Hoppers’ roster now includes Thompson, Dilday, former Hopkinsville High School star Gavin Powell, and former Trigg County High School star Aidon Butts.
First pitch tonight is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with airtime set for 6:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
