The Hoptown Hoppers return to action tonight against the Madisonville Miners at 6:30 p.m.
It was another tough night on the diamond Thursday night for the Hoppers, who dropped a 7-2 OVL baseball game to the host Henderson Flash at Evansville’s Bosse Field.
Flash pitcher Drew Isenberg was sterling on the mound, allowing only two hits over five innings as Henderson built a 5-0 advantage.
The Hoppers, who dropped to 1-9 on the season, added a solo run in the sixth Cole Reynolds doubled and scored on a ground out by Owen Hutcheson.
The league-leading Flash (7-3) added a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth and the score remained 7-1 until the ninth when the Hoppers’ Carson Tucker singled home Hutcheson to make it 7-2.
Reynolds led the Hoppers’ offense by going 2-for-4 at the plate.
Trigg County’s Aidon Butts suffered the pitching loss for Hoptown. The right-hander went three innings and gave up six hits and four runs while striking out two batters.
