The Western Kentucky State Fair is set to kick off next week, but before the festivities get underway, contestants are invited to apply to and compete in the fair’s annual pageants.
Longtime State Fair Pageant Organizer Carolyn Ann Cobb recently appeared on WHOP News and shared pageant details and application deadlines. On Saturday, June 21 the Ms./Mrs. Pageant is at 5:30 p.m. and the Miss Pageant is at 7:30 p.m. at the Fair Convention Center.
Women who are between the ages of 16 and 21, Kentucky residents and unmarried are eligible to compete in the Miss Pageant.
Contestants in the Ms./Mrs. Pageant must be over the age of 22 and Cobb says they no longer have to be married in order to compete.
The deadline to apply is Friday, but Cobb says she plans to extend the deadline through the weekend. She says the application forms are available at the state fair website.
Along with the Miss and Ms./Mrs. Pageants, women are invited to compete in the Ms. Plus pageant, and girls are invited to compete in the youth pageants. A full schedule of fair events is available at westernkentuckystatefair.org.
