Rep. Williams to chair the Ky. House Budget Review Subcommittee on Health and Family Services

Representative Wade Williams of Earlington has been chosen to head the Kentucky House’s Budget Review Subcommittee on Health and Family Services.

The Budget Review Subcommittee on Health and Family Services is an extension of the Appropriations and Revenue Committee.

According to a news release, this committee makes budget recommendations for programs and other policy-related functions related to health and family services, including foster care, behavioral health services, public health, and Medicaid – the state’s health care program for low-income and chronically ill.

Representative Williams says, “This is an incredible honor and an additional opportunity to serve the hardworking men and women of my district and this Commonwealth. The budget is our number one policy document. Over the past several years, we’ve adopted budgets that reflect the state’s needs while incorporating accountability and transparency in state programs. We still have a great deal of work left to accomplish, and I’m excited by what we can accomplish through this budget subcommittee.”
