The Hoptown Hoppers are traveling to take on the Paducah Chiefs tonight in Ohio Valley League baseball action at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Brooks Stadium.
The Hoppers enter tonight’s game 0-8 after falling 14-3 Saturday night to the Madisonville Miners and 7-5 Sunday night at Full Count.
Full Count (6-2) scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning and opened up a 5-0 advantage entering the fifth frame.
The Hoppers got a pair of runs back in the top of the fifth. The big hit was a two-run double by Cole Reynolds.
The rally continued into the sixth inning when the Hoppers tied the game at 5-5 as former Trigg County High School star Aidon Butts slapped a two-run single to score Carson Tucker and Eli Laurent.
Butts went two-for-three and drove in a pair of runs in the game.
The Hoppers again had good pitching from starter Hunter Henley and several relievers. However, Hoptown managed only four hits in the contest.
Chase Singleton suffered the pitching loss in relief. He gave up two runs on one hit while allowing four walks and striking out four in 2 1/3 innings.
Hoptown’s next home game is scheduled for Wednesday night against Fulton. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. and airtime is 6:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
