Foul play is currently not suspected in the death of a Christian County Jail inmate.
Kentucky State Police were called to investigate after jail staff located 43-year-old Eric Green of Hopkinsville unresponsive on Monday—he was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he would be pronounced deceased.
Christian County Jailer Adam Smith says preliminary investigation is indicating that Green experienced a medical emergency, but an autopsy has been requested to determine the exact cause of death.
KSP and the Christian County Coroner are both investigating. Green was booked into the jail on May 30 on two counts of failure to appear.
