400 Mile Yard Sale takes over Kentucky

Kentucky residents and organizations in the 20 counties along U.S. Highway 68 have moved business outside for this year’s 400 Mile Yard Sale.

The yard sale kicked off on Thursday and continues through Sunday. The yard sale route runs through the Christian, Todd and Trigg counties. Along Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville, the Closet Market Vendor Place has taken business outside.

Mystical Resin and Flowers was one of the small businesses set up in the parking lot of the vendor place and has a wide variety of enamel pins and jewelry on sale. The owner, Linda Dague says she has seen a decent number of shoppers despite some on-and-off showers.

Then at the Clayton Building in downtown Hopkinsville, a restaurant liquidation sale is being hosted and Patty Cooper, the owner of Starbird Gourmet Popcorn and So Much More is also selling some sweet and savory treats.

The Clayton Building has become a spot for vendor markets and Cooper says the liquidation sale is allowing them to free up some more space for the summer market that’s set to start on June 14.

Cooper says they plan to host the market each Saturday during the summer.

Along with doing some shopping, Tara Hall, the organizer of the 400 Mile Yard Sale says it’s also about meeting new people and exploring parts of Kentucky.
