Squealin’ on the Square takes over downtown Hopkinsville on Friday

The summer fun is just now starting get into full swing with Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation, and it continues this coming Friday with Squealin’ on the Square,

Squealin’ on the Square is a BBQ competition where teams get to compete for who has the best BBQ, the public gets to sample and vote on their favorite. Program Coordinator Jacob Wilson says cooking starts bright and early that morning, but judging will start at 3 p.m. and the public can start sampling at 6 p.m.

Superintendent Toby Hudson says that’s not all that starts at 6 p.m., as the Dueling Pianos will take the stage at Founders Square at that time, and he says its always a rocking show.

There are three BBQ categories on the judging block—chicken, ribs and pork chops. Additional food trucks will also be on site that night, if you’re looking for something different.

If you’re interested in having a team in the competition, or you’re just looking for more information on the event, contact Parks and Rec at 270-887-4290.
