It’s time to grab the bait and tackle—the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is putting out the word that Free Fishing Days are set for this weekend.
On June 7 and June 8, Kentuckians and their families can head out to the public lakes and cast their lines without having a fishing license. Officials are reminding that this does only apply to public fishing areas—you will still need, as always, permission to fish any private waters, and you’ll still need to abide by daily limits, size limits and other regulations.
After this Free Fishing Weekend however, you’ll need to grab your fishing license for the year if you haven’t already, and they can be found on the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife website.
