Phase 2 for Spring Creek Parkway in Clarksville underway

Phase 2 for Spring Creek Parkway in Clarksville is set to begin soon, after phase 1 was completed earlier this year in the effort to improve traffic and travel in that area.

According to a news release, the second phase will be similar to the first one, and includes a new 4,500-feet-long stretch of new roadway continuing through the Spring Creek area. The beginning stages will involve clearing trees and grading, preparing the site for construction.

The second segment is a four-lane, divided highway that will include a 681-foot-long bridge over Spring Creek.  There will be new street lights, sidewalks and an intersection at Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

The new bridge over Spring Creek has officially been named the “Elester Garner Chapter of the Triple Nickel Bridge”, in honor of the first all-Black parachute infantry test platoon, company and battalion of the U.S. Army.

The entirety of Spring Creek Parkway will span from Trenton Road to Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, and will serve an estimated 40,000 vehicles per day. This intersecting street will be designed to take traffic pressures off of each of these corridors, as well as Interstate 24 in Montgomery County.

Completion of Phase 2 of Spring Creek Parkway is currently scheduled for Summer 2027.
