Keep an eye out while you’re out traveling the state roads for the next few weeks, as crews with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be out doing mowing operations.
According to a news release, mowing zones will be going up across the state, and motorists are urged to slow down and use appropriate caution, as equipment may have to occasionally enter the travel lanes while they do their work. KYTC and contract mowing crews will be working during daylight hours whenever weather permits.
Political signs and other advertisements are not permitted on state highway right-of-way and should be removed. Illegal signs may be removed from the right-of-way without notice to the owner.
Signs that are removed will generally be held for 10 working days at the local KYTC Department of Highway Maintenance Facility, allowing owners a chance to claim them. Unclaimed signs will be discarded after this period.
