Former Hopkinsville High School and Heritage Christian Academy pitcher J.J. Thompson and the Wright State Raiders will be playing this weekend in the Nashville Region of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.
The Raiders will open play against the No. 1 overall seed Vanderbilt Commodores at 5 p.m. on Friday. Louisville and East Tennessee State also are in the regional.
Thompson pitched 3 2/3 innings of one-hit relief in the Raiders’ Horizon League Tournament championship game win over Milwaukee last week.
