Livingston Central scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning and rallied to defeat Christian County 2-1 Monday night in the Region 2 Softball Tournament quarterfinals at Webster County High School.
The Lady Colonels scored in the bottom of the first after Avery Adcock walked and scored on a single by Alondra “Bibi” Rodriguez.
After the first inning, Christian County managed only one more hit the rest of the game. Jazzy Tejada had a single to lead off the bottom of the sixth.
The Lady Cardinals had three hits in the top of the sixth inning. Chloe Doyle’s two-out double scored Addison Tramble with the go-ahead run.
Jordan Turner suffered the pitching loss despite tossing a four-hitter and striking out eight batters. Tramble, who is an eighth grader, picked up the pitching win for the Lady Cardinals, who advance to play Caldwell County in today’s 8 p.m. semifinals. The Lady Tigers defeated Union County 6-3 on Monday.
The Lady Colonels saw their season end with a 22-14 record.
