The City of Hopkinsville has made it official—the L&N Depot on East Ninth Street will come under new ownership after those details were recently finalized.
The historic depot has officially been sold to Railmark Holdings Inc., who plans to install a full-service travel agency in the building that first came to Hopkinsville in 1892, with a long-term vision to restore passenger rail service to the community.
City officials say it was sold for $87,500.
Renovations are slated to begin soon, with Railmark committed to maintaining the historic architecture while giving it some much needed repairs and updating.
Mayor J.R. Knight says, “This is an inspiring example of how preservation and innovation can go hand-in-hand.”
