Hunt slams pair of homers in Blazers’ win over FCHS

University Heights Academy used a pair of home runs from junior shortstop Hayden Hunt to dispatch host Fort Campbell 12-1, in a five-inning District 8 baseball game Wednesday.

Hunt slammed home runs in the fourth and fifth innings and drove in four runs on the day.

The game Wednesday resumed from Monday when rain halted the contest. At the time, UHA (16-9, 6-2) led 1-0 with bases loaded and two outs in the top of the third.

The Blazers scored three runs in the third to push their lead to 4-0. A five-run fourth inning made it 9-0 and Hunt’s second blast helped push the lead to 12-0 entering the bottom of the fifth.

The Falcons (3-17, 2-6) finally got on the board in the bottom of the fifth using three singles and an error.

Thomas Hallmark started the game on Monday and was relieved by his brother, Timmy, who finished the game on Wednesday. The brothers limited the Falcons to only four hits.

For UHA, Jaiden Miles had a pair of hits and drove in four runs and Aidon Jones had a double.

The Blazers are scheduled to play tonight at Franklin-Simpson.
