Trial for Alexander and Dakota Heck was rescheduled to November 3 in Christian Circuit Court on Wednesday.
The pair is charged in connection to the murder of an infant in their home in March 2022. Alexander Heck is charged with murder and Dakota Heck is charged with complicity to murder. The victim was the child of a mother who was reportedly staying at the pair’s home at the time.
Alexander Heck is represented by attorney Michael Thompson and Dakota Heck is represented by attorney Stephanie Mize. Circuit Judge Andrew Self says trial will start at 9:30 a.m. on November 3 and will continue on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of that week.
Concerning trial preparation, attorneys are waiting on Self to make rulings concerning the use of autopsy photos at the trial. Self says he is waiting to receive a report from a medical examiner to make a ruling.
Self says he may allow photos of the victim’s spinal cord to be shown to a jury, but may exclude more gruesome photos from being shown.
The pair will reappear in court for a pretrial conference on October 1.
