Congressman James Comer named Christian County High School student Lily Hughes as the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Kentucky’s First Congressional District.
Hughes’s drawing, titled “Repeller Man,” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol alongside other art from across the United States.
The competition also recognized Catherine Poland from Christian County High School as the second-place recipient. Her artwork title “To the Finish Line” will be permanently displayed in Comer’s Washington, D.C. office.
Comer says he is inspired each year by the talent found in the first district, and this year was no exception. He adds that he is proud to display the artwork in the U.S. capital along with his office and congratulates the high schoolers on their hard work.
