National Peace Officers Memorial Day is Thursday, May 15, and to honor local officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty, the Hopkinsville Fraternal Order of Police is hosting a memorial service.
The service will include remarks from local leaders and a proclamation reading. Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight is encouraging the community to come and reflect on the service and sacrifices of local law enforcement.
The service will be at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Park.
