As construction continues on the consolidated Christian County High School, the school system announced that Ken Carver has been selected to serve as the executive principal of the school.
Carver has most recently served as the principal of Muhlenberg County High School. Prior to serving as principal, Carver taught science at Muhlenberg North and South Middle Schools from 2005 to 2012. He has also coached baseball and basketball and served as an assistant athletic director.
Carver attended Murray State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and his teaching certification. He later received a master’s degree in educational administration at the University of the Cumberlands.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel says Carver’s experience, vision and commitment to student achievement makes him the right leader to establish a positive culture and high expectations at the consolidated Christian County High School. Christian County School Board Chair Tom Bell says the board is confident in Carver’s ability to lead students and staff and looks forward to supporting him.
Carver says he is honored to have this opportunity and is excited to embrace some of the district’s traditions while also building new traditions to unite and better the community he is set to serve. Carver will begin serving as executive principal starting July 1.
