The Hopkinsville High School Jazz Ensemble is inviting the community to Jazz on the Town on Saturday for an evening of music and a silent auction, all to benefit the high school’s band programs.
Assistant Band Director Addisson Grimm says this is their third year hosting the concert and they have around 10 pieces of music planned for the evening. For the first time ever, the high school ensemble will be joined by the Hopkinsville Middle School Jazz Ensemble.
Along with the jazzy tunes, the concert will be catered and the silent auction is set to include many prizes. HHS Senior and Jazz Ensemble trombone player, Hannah Wolfe says folks can win tickets to a Cincinnati Reds baseball game, Bluegrass Splash season tickets, Nashville Symphony tickets, gift cards to local businesses and much more.
Wolfe says the funds raised at the concert will support multiple band programs such as their concert band, marching band, jazz band, percussion ensemble and their winter guard.
Jazz on the Town takes over the Hopkinsville War Memorial Building on Saturday, May 10 at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and the link to buy them is available at the Jazz on the Town event page on Facebook.
