The Tennessee Valley Authority and the Bicentennial Volunteers, Inc. is putting out a reminder to local educators that the deadline to apply for one of the new Robotics Awards program grants is fast approaching.
According to a news release, this program is similar to the TVA STEM Awards program, where teachers and robotics team sponsors for public or private schools, can apply for an award of up to $5,000. Nonprofit organizations serving youth ages 5-18 may also apply. Applicants must be in the TVA service area and receive electricity from a local power company served by TVA.
The funds can be used to purchase robotics kits, tools and materials, and to pay entry fees for competitions, or even be used to begin a robotics program.
The deadline to apply is May 15, and applications can be submitted to tva.com/robotics.
