Two severely injured, one arrested in Pembroke Road collision

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department has charged a Radcliff man following a wreck between a vehicle and four bicyclists on Pembroke Road Monday. 

According to a news release, deputies and officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Pembroke Road for reports that a vehicle had struck four cyclists. Upon arrival, two of bicyclists were found unresponsive, with both having sustained significant injuries.

One was rushed to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with CPR in progress, while another was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. 

The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Isaiah Edwards of Radcliff, Kentucky, reportedly told officers that he had been distracted while driving. Further investigation and performance during field sobriety tests led to his arrested.

He is currently charged with third-offense operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. 

The collision remains under investigation by the Hopkinsville Police Department.
