CCPS Superintendent Bentzel spotlights end of year plans

Students have less than a month of school left until summer break and Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Chris Bentzel shared what they have planned before the end of the school year.

Graduation ceremonies for seniors of Christian County and Hopkinsville High Schools are set for May 23 at the Stadium of Champions, and afterward Bentzel says graduates are invited to celebrate the milestone with their friends at Project Graduation.

Bentzel says this year’s Project Graduation has been dubbed the comeback year. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual celebration returned in smaller formats, but he says sponsors and parents are working to bring back the traditional Project Graduation.

Bentzel says Project Graduation is great way for students to celebrate while ensuring their safety. Those interested in donating to their efforts can contact the CCPS Central Office at 270-887-7000.

Before students can celebrate, they got to get through Kentucky State Assessments. Testing starts on May 6 and Bentzel says they are encouraging students to do their best.

During the first week of assessments, Bentzel says they will also be celebrating their educators for Teacher Appreciation Week.
