Bark For Life set to take over Hopkinsville Dog Park this Saturday

Before we can Relay For Life in August, first things have to go to the dogs, with Bark For Life set for May 3.

Bark For Life is a pet-themed fundraising event that will be held at the Hopkinsville Dog Park, and Organizer Pam Futrell says it’s all about getting outside and having fun with man’s best-friend, because humans aren’t the only ones affected by cancer. It will take place starting at 9 a.m. and going until about noon.

There will be competitions, presentations, giveaways and plenty of treats.

If you don’t know what Relay For Life is, Futrell explains that they are a non-profit organization that has raised over $3 million since its inception, all for supporting those locally in their fight with cancer.

The actual Relay for Life will take place on August 22 at the Hopkinsville Sportsplex, and there’s still plenty of time join or start a team to raise money to support those battling cancer locally.

A two-time cancer survivor herself, Futrell says if you haven’t been to relay before, she’s personally inviting you to attend, because all money raised support those currently in the fight and their caregivers in numerous ways.
