Lady Colonels give Hancock 100th career win

Alondra Rodriguez had a big day at the plate and led the visiting Christian County Lady Colonels to a 4-2 high school softball win over Paducah Tilghman Monday.

According to Christian County High School officials, the win was Lady Colonels’ coach Sherri Hancock’s 100th career victory.

Rodriguez came up big in the top of the third with a two-run triple that scored Avery Adcock and Chloe Almy for a 3-1 advantage.

Paducah cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth but Rodriguez struck again in the top of the fifth with an RBI single that scored Jordan Turner to make it 4-2.

Turner, who pitched a complete game and struck out four while walking none, shut down the Blue Tornado the rest of the way.

Jazzy Tejada and Turner each had a pair of hits to lead the Lady Colonels, who improved to 11-7. JaKayla Grubbs added a double for Christian County.

The Lady Colonels return to action today at Lyon County.
