University Heights Academy picked up its third straight high school baseball win Monday night with a dramatic 2-1 victory over host Owensboro Apollo.
Jackson Flynn singled in Cadence Gibson with the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning.
Ryan Luckey and Gibson teamed up to pitch a three-hitter and keep the Eagles’ bats at bay.
UHA took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Aiden Jones hit a sacrifice fly to score Luckey.
Apollo tied the game in the fourth inning on a run-scoring triple by Ryleigh Logan.
Jaiden Miles had a double for the Blazers.
UHA improves to 9-5 on the season and returns to action today at Webster County.
