The Christian County Colonels bounced back from a disappointing loss to Henderson County on Tuesday night and defeated host Graves County 9-6 Thursday in a high school baseball game.
The Colonels improved to 8-4 on the season using 13 hits against the Eagles’ pitching.
Christian County jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Graves answered with four runs in the bottom of the first frame for a 4-2 advantage.
However, the Colonels scored six runs over the next two at-bats and took an 8-4 lead they would never relinquish.
The Eagles (5-4) cut the lead to 8-6 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth. However, Sebastian Dazey entered the game in relief and shut down Graves the rest of the way.
Christian County added a solo run in the top of the seventh for the final score.
Eddie Davis picked up the pitching win for the Colonels, going four innings and striking out four.
Thad Toliver drove in three runs and Blake Boehman added three hits for Christian County, which is scheduled to play tonight at Paducah Tilghman.
Aiden Lewis had a triple and a single. Dazey and Gage Montes also had a pair of hits for the Colonels.
