Slight chance for severe weather in western Ky. today

There is a small chance for severe weather in western Kentucky today, with portions of the area highlighted under a Slight Risk.

Just a small piece of Christian County and the bulk of Trigg County is in the Slight Risk, while the rest of the area is only in a Marginal Risk for severe weather. But, if a severe storm can form, it would bring mostly a risk for a large hail, with an isolated gust of a damaging wind.

On the upside, there is virtually no risk for tornadoes, and the rainfall amounts would generally be around a quarter of an inch or less, so shouldn’t have much impact on still standing flood waters.

As for the timing, storms could move into the western Kentucky area between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and storms will be moving fast.
