Madisonville Police arrest pair for drug, firearm possession after traffic stop

Madisonville Police arrested Ryan Hines and Markeil Foster on Wednesday after a vehicle search reportedly unveiled drugs and firearms.

According to a report, officers observed a car driving with a tinted cover over its license plate. Officers started following the car and initiated a traffic stop. After making contact with Hines, the driver, and Foster, the passenger, officers reportedly smelt the odor of marijuana and ordered both men out of the vehicle.

While searching the vehicle officers reportedly found two firearms, a glass metal pipe with white residue, jars of marijuana, multiple scales and other drug paraphernalia. Officers also made contact with a child in a booster seat in the back seat and Hines had reportedly attempted to conceal one of the guns under the child.

Hines was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, possession of restricted ammunition and having a non-legible license plate.

Foster was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
