The Red Brick Run and festival is set to take over the Lake Barkley Bridge on Saturday for a day of fitness and fun, and Joey Ruff the owner of the Red Brick Inn and Steve Nolan from Friends of Land Between the Lakes appeared on WHOP to spill all the details.
The Red Brick Inn, also known as the Canton Hotel, in Cadiz is a 200-year-old inn that was once a steamboat stop. Ruff says he and his wife Allison Ruff bought the hotel in 2023 and they updated it to include a bed and breakfast and a tavern while maintaining the building’s historical significance.
The 5k Walk or Run gets started at 8 a.m. at the Inn and takes participants over the LBL bridge. Run registration is from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Then live music and the Beer and Distillery Festival starts at 9 a.m.
For the festival, Ruff says they wanted to include Kentucky breweries and distilleries. Drinks will be available from Casey Jones, MB Roland, the Denver House, Against the Grain Brewing, Country Boy Brewing and Goodwood Brewing and Spirits.
Then, when it comes to the music, Ruff says regional artists Haleigh Martin, Gina Caturano, Jeff Johnson and the Jordan Roberts Acoustic Duo will be performing.
The festival will also include food trucks throughout the day such as Driving You Donuts, Chicken Strippers, Just Burgers and then for dinner the tavern will be open. The Red Brick Inn is located at 500 Boyds Landing Road.
