A woman is now facing numerous charges in connection with a fatal crash on Nebo Road in Hopkins County in September of last year.
According to a news release from the Madisonville Police Department, investigation began following a collision in the 4100 block of Nebo Road near Manitou on September 16, 2024, that resulted in the death of a six-year-old child and severe injuries to another passenger and the driver of one of the vehicles. That investigation lasted several months and had assistance from Kentucky State Police.
On Tuesday, a Hopkins County Grand Jury returned an indictment against Jessica Settle on charges of vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs, two counts of second-degree assault, second-offense DUI, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and first-degree persistent felony offender.
Settle was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
