Last weekend’s rain has affected the start of the All “A” Region 2 baseball and softball tournaments this week.
In baseball at University Heights Academy, Heritage Christian Academy is scheduled to take on the Blazers at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The game was originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. today, but due to the weather over the weekend, it was moved to Tuesday night.
UHA enters the game on a two-game losing streak and is 4-3 overall and 2-0 in District 8 on the season. HCA is 2-4 overall and has not played a District 8 game.
Tuesday’s game will air at 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
The winner of Tuesday’s game will meet Crittenden County in the semifinals, which will be played at UHA. A date and time for the semifinal game was not set as of this morning. UHA officials said they hoped to finalize the rest of the bracket later today.
The other first round games today that have been postponed to Tuesday feature Fort Campbell at Caldwell County and Livingston Central vs. Lyon County at Princeton.
The Region 2 All “A” Softball Tournament will begin on Tuesday with UHA taking on Caldwell County at 5:30 p.m.
The Lady Blazers are 2-3 and Caldwell County is 3-4. UHA has not played since March 27 when they lost to HCA 16-13.
The Lady Warriors will not participate in the All “A” region tournament. HCA coach Ashley Tejada said the school’s seniors were on a trip this week and there weren’t enough players to play in the tournament.
On Tuesday, Crittenden County is at Livingston Central and Fort Campbell is at Lyon County.
