APSU sweeps Underhill, Eastern Kentucky

Former Christian County High School baseball star Elijah Underhill and the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels were swept in an ASUN series over the weekend at Austin Peay.

The Governors, who have the nation’s longest winning streak at 12 games, took a doubleheader 10-9 and 14-4 in seven innings on Friday.

In the first game, Underhill entered as a pinch hitter and walked.

Underhill pitched 2/3 of an inning in the second game, allowing two earned runs and two hits while striking out one.

The former CCHS star did not play in Sunday’s game, which was originally scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., but was pushed back to 7 p.m. due to rain. Austin Peay won the game 6-2 in seven innings.

The Governors improved to 25-7 overall and 11-1 in the conference. Eastern is now 4-28 overall and 3-9 in the ASUN.
