Tigers take 3rd at Muhlenberg Invitational

The Hopkinsville Tigers had three individual gold medals on the way to a third-place finish in the Muhlenberg Invitational track meet Saturday.

Elijah Reid took first place in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.52 seconds. Kayden Humphrey took fifth in 20.59.

Keyshun Teal earned a first-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 43.04 seconds. Humphrey took fourth in 48.37 seconds.

Savior Davis proved too fast in the 800-meter run as the Tigers’ junior took first place in 2:13.73. LaMareon Jeffers was fourth in 2:21.31.

The Tigers’ 800-meter relay team took second place with a time of 8:58.48. The 200-meter relay team earned a fifth-place finish in 1:37.47. The Tigers’ 400-meter relay team also earned a fifth-place finish in a time of 3:53.30.

Hoptown senior Treston Kay finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 36 feet, 7 inches.

Paducah Tilghman won the boys’ meet with 86 points, with Christian County finishing second (76) and Hopkinsville third (69).

For the Lady Tigers, Lauren Mayes finished third place with a time of 12:31.01.

Owensboro won the girls’ meet with 117 points, followed by Ballard Memorial (75), and Owensboro Catholic (72.5). The Lady Tigers finished 10th with 23 points.
